Handleless Nobilia Kitchen on the Upper East Side

This galley kitchen sits in an apartment building on Manhattan's Upper East Side. As with every kitchen renovation in Manhattan we take on, the room gave us almost no tolerance to work with.

Cabinetry runs down both walls with a single walkway between them. The electrical panel on the end wall had to stay where it was and stay accessible, so the design was dictated by set out around fixed services rather than a clean sheet.

We installed a handleless Nobilia kitchen, using recessed grip rails so nothing interrupts the face of the doors. Walnut-effect fronts sit on grey carcasses. The countertop is Vicostone Tyrol in a polished finish with emerald green tiles for the backsplash.

The result reads warm but stays quiet. In a room this narrow, that is the whole job.
